MAUREEN HENSLEY MONTGOMERY

Founder/President

Maureen was born and raised in Chicago, where her father served as a Chicago Police officer for over 40 years and her mother was a stay-at-home mom. She married her husband Mike in 1991 and they’ve resided in Bourbonnais for the last 28 years where their three children Ashley, Michael and Jake were raised. Maureen has her associate degree in business with a specialization in Accounting and Marketing/Management. Maureen has volunteered for many organizations through the years. As a child she was a volunteer for Sertoma, an organization dedicated to serving the mentally challenged and disabled. She was a volunteer religious education teacher for 5 years, served as a parent volunteer for the Bourbonnais school district for many years, a volunteer for Bradley Bourbonnais Youth Softball league for 8 years where she served on the Board for 3 years and was a volunteer for the Kankakee Girl’s Summer Softball league for 4 years. Her and her family have volunteered and spoke at many St. Jude events throughout the years. She has been President of the AshleyCan Pediatric Cancer Foundation since she co-founded it with her daughter Ashley. Maureen strongly believes in a quote of actor and founder of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Danny Thomas, “Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself, it’s what you do for others.” Maureen enjoys writing, running, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

ASHLEY MONTGOMERY

VICE PRESIDENT / HERO / ANGEL

Born in Tinley Park, Illinois. Moved to Bourbonnais with brother and parents when she was 4 years old. She attended school here and has resided here for the past 20 years where she lives with her Mom, Dad and two Brother’s Michael and Jake.

Growing up Ashley was very active in sports and enjoyed being part of a team. She played softball from 1st grade until her senior year as well as Soccer from 2nd grade until her senior year. She played Basketball for 5 years to include three on the Bourbonnais Upper Grade Center School team.

 Ashley graduated from Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School in 2010.  She attended Kankakee Community College where she obtained her Associates in Arts and is currently working on her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Olivet Nazarene University. She plans to work in pediatric oncology.

 Ashley enjoys, watching movies, reading, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. She volunteers and speaks at many St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital events throughout the year.

Aubrey Montgomery is currently the Sponsorship and Raffles Coordinator for the AshleyCan Pediatric Cancer Foundation. She is the wife of Michael Montgomery, Jr., Ashley's brother, and has been working with the Foundation since 2011. Aubrey grew up in Frankfort and is now a school psychologist at Mokena Junior High. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two cats, Lucifer and Maze, and her family, as well as puzzling, online shopping, and watching reality tv shows.

JESSICA HENSLEY

Jessica is an Illinois native and mom of two. In 2018, she graduated from Lewis University with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, going on to work in the field for a handful of years before becoming a mom. Jessica has a passion for helping children and keeping our most vulnerable population healthy and safe. Working with AshleyCan has been one of her most fulfilling experiences. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys reading, spending time outside, and being wit her husband and children.
